Bakit ba nila ginawa yun?

Freedom is in us, it is up to us.

Ang tanong, willing ba ako to pursue His’ path?

-Romans 6:23

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas. Mabubuhay ang Pilipinas.

No to Cyberbullying

Some say it’s impossible for cyberbullying to terminate, I disagree. I’ve met somebody 3years ago, he’s been very passionate not bullying people but seeing what’s good and worthy of praise in every woman in the pageant industry. He’s a writer/blogger, pageant enthusiast, he is Norman Tinio. www.normannorman.com

It wasn’t hard befriending this intelligent and sweet man, I remember our long conversation last year on the topic of writing, and right there I recognized why he’s making it well in the blogging society. He mentioned to me that some people would think it’s bias when he doesn’t have anything not-so-nice to talk about. Actually, it’s given, we all have flaws, but Norman chooses to look at the good stuff. He reminds me of the verse in Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” See what pleasing words can do? It gives grace, life and beauty! There is indeed power in every word we utter.

Here are 3 more Biblical truths on the words we speak:

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” This is why we should be careful with what we say and what we tell people they are, for we may encounter it ourselves.

Matthew 12:36-27 “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” There’s judgement, not in the pageant or any contest, but in due time we are all accountable to our every word.

Proverbs 12:18 “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” I believe in this, words of affirmation can brighten up anyone’s day. If we’ll only see the good in everything there won’t be a reason for us to hate and be a bully.

To see the good is only possible when we see and encounter the maker of all good things, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who gave Himself to die for our sins. The man who lived the life we should’ve lived and died the death we should’ve died. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving He’s the Son of God and offering the gift of Salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him.

To the cyberbullies, hmm… I love you! This entry is for you. Have an awesome Holy Week and Holy Life to us all! 😘

Alter Ego

If only I could get You activated all the time, I would. That means 24/7 strength, endurance, power, persistence. I’d be immovable, unshakeable, unbreakable. Always able to resist temptation, stable and on the right direction.
If I’m not You, I’m a weakling. I’d be this paralyzed and shocked lady once again. Or some loser gullibly running after misleading sights, incapable of maneuvering towards the light. That’s why I want to keep on being You, cause without You, damn I am a lost sheep, a prodigal daughter, an infant – tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.

I could be You. I could be consistent at it. It takes work, it takes action, a step forward and a leap of faith. It takes OBEDIENCE. I hope to be You. Just get inside of me, will you? HOLY GHOST, I need You. I want You. I want to understand You more. I am desperate for You.

Crucially and expectantly waiting. XX

Sweet Nothing

Can’t sleep. It’s been a while. I’ve missed this. A lot of things happened since my last blog entry, roller coaster of emotions, stretching of faith and legit humbling of the heart. (In particular, my heart.)

Notice the photo above. It speaks to me a lot. If you are in a pageant, it’s temptation, it’s sweet, but no good. Just like in life, we are rich with sweet things in this world, yet unworthy ones. My point is not everything romantic and sweet are good. Not everything we desire may be beneficial for us. Not everything that seems good are good. Not all forms of love that we believe in are true love. Not everything we see are substantial, a lot of things are deceiving and tempting, and we gotta be careful.

Two weeks ago, I was not chosen as a candidate for my big dream. It was painful, until He brought me back and made me an official candidate a week later. He’s crazy, in a nice way. He realigned my heart and my desires. He proved me that He’s in control of my dreams and everything solely depends on Him. That no matter how much I try to be my life’s director, He will always be the Boss. He rules and reigns, as usual. (Hindi na ako na sanay.) In a span of a week, I was humbled, I’ve learned to surrender the dream to Him. Mehhn, and I realized it was just right for me to do it because dreaming of becoming Miss Universe is totally not under my control, so might as well give it to Him. Apart from Him, everything I want to achieve is rubbish–waley and chaka.

Let’s go back to the title, Sweet Nothing. Hmm. To me, it’s waste of time, it delays us from seeing the real blessing and brings us to idleness instead knowing and living out our purpose. Sweet Nothing is a work of the enemy. It may be procrastination, checking out nonsense stuff on Instagram & Facebook for hours (guilty) and prioritizing it more than the important things I have to do. It could mean settling in a relationship na wala lang & bahala na, unlabeled. It could mean doing a lot of good works yet not being able to understand why you do them. It could be getting rich to sustain for yourself, and yours alone. It could mean you being the happiest person in the world, while the people around you are dying in pain. Anything that points to self, to selfishness in particular, is worthless. What else did I miss? So that’s my view of sweet nothing.

Alright, I’m posting this now. I’m glad to be back in the pageant (Binibining Pilipinas 2016) and I sincerely hope to enjoy it like never before. Good night, Universe! 💜🙂
